How Australia CVs differ from US resumes

CV length

Many international CVs run 3-5 pages with personal details; trim to 1-2 pages, prioritizing last 10 years + skills

What we remove for US format

Common on Australia CVs, but never on US resumes:

  • Photo
  • Date Of Birth
  • Age
  • Marital Status
  • Nationality
  • Religion
  • Id Numbers
  • National Id
  • Passport Number
  • Father's Name
  • Mother's Name
  • Spouse Name
  • Children
  • Signature
  • Declaration
  • Referees
  • References
  • Character References
  • Hobbies
  • Interests

Layout fixes we apply

  • Remove personal details section (photo, DOB, age, marital status, nationality, religion, ID numbers, parents' names, etc.)
  • Remove signature block and declaration paragraphs
  • Remove 'References' or 'Referees' section — and do NOT add 'References available on request'
  • Remove 'Hobbies' / 'Interests' section
  • Convert local date formats to Month YYYY (e.g. 15/03/2020 → March 2020)
  • Keep the user's current city — do NOT invent a U.S. address
  • Keep local phone numbers in international format (+country code)
  • Convert local grades to U.S. GPA — only if recent grad
  • If CV is not in English, translate everything to U.S. English
  • Convert tabular CVs to single-column format for ATS compatibility

FAQ

Is the Australia to US resume converter really free?
Yes — completely free. No signup, no credit card. We limit each IP to 3 conversions per day to keep AI costs reasonable, but most users never hit that.
Do you store my Australia CV?
No. Your CV is processed in server memory during the request and deleted immediately after. We never persist it to disk, database, or cache. Read our Privacy page for the full promise.
What if my Australia CV is in another language?
accept CVs in any language; output English
Do you invent facts or numbers?
Never. If a bullet would benefit from a number (e.g. 'managed X devices') and you didn't provide one, we leave a placeholder like '[add number, e.g. number of devices managed]' for you to fill in. We never fabricate jobs, dates, employers, skills, certifications, degrees, or numbers.
Do you ask about visa or work-authorization status?
No. We do not ask about, store, or include visa status on your resume. That's between you and the employer.
Why does my Australia job title show as a different US title?
Some countries use titles that don't map cleanly to U.S. seniority (e.g. 'Assistant Manager', 'Deputy Manager', 'Engineer II/III'). Present a SUGGESTION and let the user confirm — NEVER auto-upgrade seniority.
How do I download as PDF?
After conversion, click 'Print / Save as PDF'. Your browser's print dialog opens with the resume on US Letter size, single column. Choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination.

Honesty promise

We don't invent anything. Placeholders like [add number, e.g. number of devices]mean we left a gap for you to fill in with your real data.

ATS-friendly output

Single column, no tables, no images, no headers/footers. Standard fonts. Designed to pass automated applicant tracking systems (ATS).
