How India CVs differ from US resumes
CV length
Indian CVs often run 3-5 pages with full personal details; trim to 1-2 pages, prioritizing last 10 years + skills
What we remove for US format
Common on India CVs, but never on US resumes:
- Photo
- Date Of Birth
- Marital Status
- Nationality
- Father's Name
- Mother's Name
- Religion
- Caste
- Id Numbers
- Aadhaar
- Pan
- Passport Number
- Declaration
- Signature
- Referees
- Hobbies
- Languages Known
- Blood Group
- Permanent Address
Layout fixes we apply
- Remove 'Curriculum Vitae' header at top โ replace with name + role
- Remove personal details section (photo, DOB, father's name, marital status, nationality, religion, Aadhaar/PAN, address, etc.)
- Remove 'Declaration' paragraph at the bottom ('I hereby declare that the above information is true...') โ US resumes never have this
- Remove 'References' / 'Referees' section
- Remove 'Hobbies' or 'Interests' section (US resumes don't list these)
- Remove 'Languages Known' section (mention in skills if non-English relevant)
- Remove 'Permanent Address' โ keep just current city
- Convert DD/MM/YYYY dates to Month YYYY format
- Convert percentage/CGPA to approximate U.S. GPA โ only if recent grad
- Convert Indian phone numbers to international format (+91)
- Keep Indian city names (Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, etc.) โ do NOT invent a US address

Common India job titles โ US titles (suggestions only)
Indian titles like 'Assistant Manager' and 'Deputy Manager' do NOT map cleanly to US seniority. Present them as 'Senior Engineer' or 'Lead Engineer' as a SUGGESTION, and let the user pick the right seniority. Never auto-upgrade to a higher US title without user confirmation.

FAQ
- Is the India to US resume converter really free?
- Yes โ completely free. No signup, no credit card. We limit each IP to 3 conversions per day to keep AI costs reasonable, but most users never hit that.
- Do you store my India CV?
- No. Your CV is processed in server memory during the request and deleted immediately after. We never persist it to disk, database, or cache. Read our Privacy page for the full promise.
- What if my India CV is in another language?
- en-IN (and Hindi + regional languages accepted)
- Do you invent facts or numbers?
- Never. If a bullet would benefit from a number (e.g. 'managed X devices') and you didn't provide one, we leave a placeholder like '[add number, e.g. number of devices managed]' for you to fill in. We never fabricate jobs, dates, employers, skills, certifications, degrees, or numbers.
- Do you ask about visa or work-authorization status?
- No. We do not ask about, store, or include visa status on your resume. That's between you and the employer.
- Why does my India job title show as a different US title?
- Indian titles like 'Assistant Manager' and 'Deputy Manager' do NOT map cleanly to US seniority. Present them as 'Senior Engineer' or 'Lead Engineer' as a SUGGESTION, and let the user pick the right seniority. Never auto-upgrade to a higher US title without user confirmation.
- How do I download as PDF?
- After conversion, click 'Print / Save as PDF'. Your browser's print dialog opens with the resume on US Letter size, single column. Choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination.
Honesty promise
We don't invent anything. Placeholders like [add number, e.g. number of devices]mean we left a gap for you to fill in with your real data.
ATS-friendly output
Single column, no tables, no images, no headers/footers. Standard fonts. Designed to pass automated applicant tracking systems (ATS).
